I want to be able to type in Pinyin without having to use alt+number combinations all the time. I need an easier way to input letters with the tone marks on them.

I know the two most widely used are Cantonese and Mandarin, and I would like to learn the one that is most used out of those because so many people speak Chinese, it's just insane. Well anyways, which of these is most widely used around the world? P.S. Which is harder? P.P.S. Could I learn both if I was really determined?

what do you think i heard some people said that but if we study about the english in many conutries is the second language around the wordl and the chineses is a language tone so you can say 1 word like 4 differents forms and each tone mean different thing.and you can image the chinese in computer like visual basic.c++,etc...and the teacher say in china all the business are in eglish and you don't need to speak chinese sooo what do you think

Cantonese people live in the PRC, and the language preferred by the Central government is Mandarin (And it is the Language of the majority of the people - 850 million).

So, how does Mandarin compare to English as a second language?

I was wondering if Mandarin Chinese was beneficial for a software engineer.

I'm not stupid, I know that they are different languages, but what is the difference between vocab(like do they have completely different words for car, or cat, flower?) And when I see chinese writing (or japanese, I'm a beginner) I can't tell the difference. What is some similarities and some differences?

Hey guys, I really need help on this one. Started yesterday, I couldn't open any websites containing Chinese language. I'm not sure what problem this is: virus, spyware, my LAN or just my computer. It worked fine last morning and since last night, I couldn't open any of these websites I used to be able to open. I also tried to open websites with Japanese and Spanish language and they all opened fine.
