Many Hong Kong people speak Cantonese as their first language.
Then what is Hong Kong people's second language?
Is it English or Mandarin(Putonghua普通話)?
Which language do Hong Kong people generally speak better?
I know they are both spoken, but does anyone know which of the two is spoken more on the West Coast of the U.S.? Thanks

I am sure it will be suggested, but we cannot afford a tutor at this time. We want to pay for one thing now that will take us far.
I am not concerned with written Chinese at this time (will be later, though). I am concerned with spoken fluency, just the way all kids learn to speak before they ever see a school book.

We need to write placards in Mandarin Language, as we are given to understand that any message in Mandarin Language will have more emphasis.
So how we write the following in Mandarin Language:
1. Tibet Du Li
2. Uyghurstan Du Li
Any thoughts on how can we make the message more emphatic?
