Does speaking and learning Mandarin Language help you on your profession? Why?

   it depends on what your profession is! it’s very difficult to learn for a person with english/or other european language background, and therefore highly sought after in certain professions, for example in the business world, in international politics and so on.

   Probably not, depends on the profession.

   There are some jobs that involve working with the Chinese where it would help, but there isn’t much call for it in most jobs.

   I think that learning it, if you are young, would open up many opportunities, particularly if you are willing to work in China. This century, economically, is likely to belong to the Chinese, if they survive the transition to democracy without too much destruction of the society.

   I would imagine if you work for corporate Wal-Mart it would help since they just bought China’s Trust Mart.

   It could. Aside from English and Spanish, Mandarin Chinese is the next most common spoken language in the world.
