I want to install Chinese language into my computer. I have a microsoft windows xp laptop. How do I do this?
I have a microsoft windows xp laptop computer. I wanto to install the Chinese language so that I can type, read , and write Chinese. When I go to the Language section and try to install "eastern asian Language" it says "please install xjis.nis from windows xp home edition" what does this mean?

it means that you don’t have that file on your hard drive. You need to put your install CD in your lap top the go to control panel > regional and language options> install ‘eastern asian language and check that box. it will install several megs of files and then you will need to install new keyboard designations as well. Add a new keyboard layout by pressing add and you’ll see quanpin, zhuangma and several other input methods. If you plan on using QQ or other Chinese software you might also want to find the option for defaulting the language of non-unicode programs to Simplified Chinese as well. Other wise these programs will display odd characters instead of the Chinese characters.
A word of caution though, if you want some newly installed international ready progroms to be installed in English you’ll want to change that option back to English before you install. For example Nvidia control panel will be in Chinese if you leave that option on during install.
It’s a little hassle but with some micro management you can keep all your programs displaying the language you want them to be in.
