I want to translate English words into Chinese , but in English letters.

I installed the language pack but the words come up as actual Chinese letters.

Like "how are you" in English is pronounce something like "nay ho ma" in Chinese.

How do I get that type of translation ?

I've been trying to add Chinese PinYin onto my language keyboard so that i could type chinese. I went to Control Panel, Region and Language, then I clicked Language, then add, and I don't see any chinese language that I could add (not even Hong Kong, taiwan, singapore version). I tried to go to the Windows XP website, but they won't let me download the language pack. What should I do?

i have a toshiba m825 laptop. it is full chinese language. i want to have it in english. i don't understand any chinese. how can i install english language pack?
it is windows vista home basic.
