what is the difference between cantonese and hongkongnese (the language)?
People from Hong Kong speak Cantonese, but so do people from other parts of China. BUt what makes the Cantonese dialect from Hong Kong so different from the common Cantonese language?
PLease include slangs if available/posssible.

I suppose cantonese would be the mother tongue of most people from the Guangdong province. I believe each different region or village would have its own way of speaking it. The Cantonese spoken in South East Asia would definitely have local Malay or Thai words in it.
the only big difference I would say is that Cantonese in HongKong is institutionalised. Where it is only largely a spoken language elsewhere, in Hong Kong it is also a written as well as spoken language.
There is no such thing as "hongkongnese". Hong Kong was a British port.
Hong Kong has more of a city accent in cantonese. Other parts of China may have there own different accents and they may pronounce it differently.
